Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and what we do with it.

Plain answers, no legal fog. Last updated August 8, 2026.

The short version

We collect what you type into our forms, plus basic technical details about your visit. We use it to reply to you, prepare your quote, and understand which of our advertising actually brings in work. We never sell your information, and we run no advertising or remarketing cookies on this site.

This policy covers realdream.ca, the website of RealDream Contracting, a renovation contractor based in North Vancouver, BC. Questions about anything on this page can go to info@realdream.ca or (604) 401-4849.

What you give us directly

Our consultation, quote, and contact forms ask for your name, email, phone number, the service you are interested in, your project location, and a description of the project. Depending on the form, you can also add a preferred consultation date, a timeline, and photos of the space. All of it goes to our office by email so we can respond.

The careers form asks for more, because it is a job application: your work experience, where you are based, trade tickets, tools and vehicle, wage expectations, availability, and an optional resume, portfolio link, and photos of past work.

We only ask for what we need to do the job in front of us. There are no accounts to create and no payments taken on this site.

Photos you upload to The Reveal

The Reveal is our visualization tool. You upload a photo of your room and it generates an image of that room renovated. To create that image, your photo is sent to Google's Gemini image service, which processes it and returns the render. We do not store your photo on a server of our own.

If you then ask for a quote on the design, we email your photo and the generated images to our office along with your contact details, and send you a confirmation copy.

What we collect automatically

When you submit a form, technical details about your visit come with it:

  • The page you submitted from, the page you first landed on, and the site or ad that sent you (including campaign tags and ad click IDs from Google, Facebook, or Microsoft)
  • Your IP address and the approximate location it maps to (city and region, as estimated by our hosting provider)
  • Your device type, operating system, browser, screen size, language, and time zone
  • How many pages you viewed and how long you had been on the site

We collect this for two reasons. It helps us respond well: knowing you were reading the basement renovation page tells us where to start the conversation. And it tells us which advertising pays for itself, so we spend on what works.

Location from an IP address is approximate. It can be off by a city, especially on mobile data or a VPN.

Cookies and similar tools

We use two measurement tools:

  • Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages people visit and where visitors come from. It sets cookies for visitors in Canada and most other places. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, where cookies need opt-in consent, it runs without cookies and sends only anonymous pings.
  • Microsoft Clarity shows us how pages get used: where people click, how far they scroll, where they get stuck. It sets its own cookies. We do not load Clarity at all for visitors in Europe.

The site also uses your browser's own storage for two small things: remembering, for the length of your visit, which page you arrived on (so a form submission can tell us what brought you here), and remembering that you closed a pop-up so it does not reappear. Neither leaves your browser except as part of a form you choose to submit.

There are no advertising or remarketing cookies on this site. If you block cookies in your browser, every page still works.

Who handles your data for us

Like most websites, we rely on a few service providers:

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and provides security. Like any host, it sees the traffic that reaches the site, including IP addresses.
  • Resend delivers our form emails. Your form submission passes through their systems on its way to our inbox.
  • Google provides Analytics and the Gemini image service behind The Reveal.
  • Microsoft provides Clarity.

Each of these processes data on our behalf under its own terms. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not share it with anyone beyond these providers unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Form submissions arrive as email and stay in our company inbox as ordinary business records. We keep them as long as they are useful for the work: quoting, running a project, honouring a warranty, or meeting legal and tax obligations. Job applications are kept while the position is open and for a reasonable period after, in case another role comes up.

Your rights

Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA federally, and BC's Personal Information Protection Act) gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, and to ask us to delete it where we have no legal reason to keep it.

To do any of that, email info@realdream.ca and tell us what you need. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. We will not quietly start doing something this policy says we do not do.
